December 3, 2018California Council of Community Behavioral Health Agency is proud to announce our partnership with Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation, the County Behavioral Health Directors Association, and Assemblymember Dr. Joaquin Arambula as we introduce Youth Mental Health First Aid Legislation for 2019!

Asm. Dr. Joaquin Arambula will champion CBHA’s budget proposal for Youth Mental Health First Aid for teachers and school personnel to address mental health and trauma in schools. The announcement was made during yesterday’s ‘Confronting California’s Mental Health Crisis’ press conference at the State Capitol. Evidence-based tools available through the training from Mental Health First Aid will ensure those who are in the frontline--teachers, school personnel, and school police officers have the tools to identify, understand and respond to those who need help the most.

CBHA is excited to lead this partnership, and the Youth Mental Health First Aid budget proposal is the first legislation Born This Way Foundation has sponsored. To hear more about the budget proposal, watch the announcement here: https://youtu.be/ltIMKcr0_tM
